How long does a Brazilian Blowout last, and is it safe for color-treated hair?
A Brazilian Blowout typically lasts 10 to 12 weeks, gradually fading rather than growing out abruptly. It is safe for color-treated hair and can actually help seal and extend the life of your color by smoothing the hair cuticle. At Amber Michelle Salon, we offer Brazilian Blowout services and can combine it with a color appointment for maximum results and convenience.
How often should I come in for a color retouch or balayage refresh?
It depends on the service. New growth retouches for all-over color are typically needed every 4 to 6 weeks. Balayage and highlights can last 8 to 12 weeks or longer because the color is applied away from the root, making the grow-out less noticeable. Toner refreshes may be needed every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain tone and vibrancy. Our stylists at Amber Michelle Salon will recommend a maintenance schedule based on your specific color service.
What are Hot Head hair extensions and how long do they last?
Hot Head extensions are a heat-activated extension method that bonds extension hair to your natural hair without chemicals, glue, or metal tools — making them one of the gentler extension options available. They typically last 6 to 8 weeks before needing a maintenance appointment. At Amber Michelle Salon, Hayley is our extension specialist and can walk you through whether Hot Head extensions are right for your hair type and thickness.
Can I get a haircut and color on the same visit, and how long should I expect to be in the salon?
Yes — in fact, most clients at Amber Michelle Salon combine a cut and color in one appointment. Timing depends on the service: a cut and blowdry typically takes 60 to 90 minutes, while a full balayage or highlight service with a toner, cut, and blowdry can take 3 to 4 hours. We recommend booking a consultation if you are unsure, so we can give you an accurate time estimate before your appointment.
